A new ordering for ferroelectrical materials in the nanoscale was discovered by researchers from the Institute of Physics of Rosario. The finding results important in the field of nanoelectronics, as the difficulty of these materials to be used in the development of devices with nanometric components was overcame. The possibility that they generate electric energy is analyzed, which will permit for example to charge the cell phone battery while we run or dance.

In Río Cuarto, Dr. José Natera together with a research group from the Department of Chemistry of the School of Exact Sciences designed new materials and devices to convert solar energy into electric energy. There are organic cells of very low cost which do not contaminate the environment, contrary to silicon cells which are used to make energy conversion.
Ariel Marioni is a student of the FADU and graduated of the Industrial High School. He won the first prize in a contest organized by the enterprise Yakey and created the Salamandra Tri0. The car does not need fuel for functioning, it is silent and small, convenient for the city and it has three wheels, so it is more stable than common vehicles. Marioni’s design was selected among 300 models and as acknowledgement it received money and shares of the enterprise.
In Bahía Blanca, university students and teachers are members of a project which helps low resources families. Their objective is to save gas and electricity with simple measures and to make their houses more comfortable. One of the activities they develop is to give lectures about energy and water conservation and small house remodeling to save in these services.
